Some regular stabilizers (not water soluble of those that are applied with water)
can shrink and cause your embroidery to pucker when the item is steam pressed
or washed. To see if yours shrinks, cut a square and measure it. Then give it a
good pressing with a lot of steam. When dry measure again. If there is a difference,
be sure to steam and press that particular stabilizer before you hoop. I have also
found some mesh iron on stabilizers can shrink. I always give these a shot of steam
(holding iron above, not touching) before I iron them on.
