I have a Yudu Screen Printing system that we have been playing with. It is easy to make screens from any graphic and also you can buy pre-made designs. The kids like this process as well.
The other process we have been using is Spray Paint with Krylon Paints.
You can use a template made from Mylar if you are creative. You can also buy Mylar templates at the local hobby stores.
You can tape off a pattern on the shirt with painters tape and then spray paint over it giving you all types of designs.
We use 3 colors of paint starting with the darkest and then over spraying with lighter colors. This has to be done while the base color is still wet, but the results are really fun.
You can also tie the shirt and spray it just like you would with tie dye paints.
The process is fast, keeps the kids attention and the results are great.
These can be embroidered or screen printed after they are dry. The shirt needs to be turned inside out and washed a couple of times so that the paint won't bleed. I haven't tried to heat set them, although I think that would do the trick as well.
I had some of my grandsons this summer and it was difficult keeping them all entertained. They had a ball creating shirts for themselves, mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa.
email me privately if you want more information.
